TEXAS

red bookPaul has just finished writing and conducting the string arrangement for a track on Texas' forthcoming album. The track, Sleep, is the lush mix of pop and soul for which Texas have become renowned, and features a duet between Sharleen and The Blue Nile's, Paul Buchanan.

A Scottish band, who burst into the charts in 1989 with the single, I Don't Want A Lover, Texas have gone on to record a number of successful albums, including the multi-platinum album White on Blonde. Singer/songwriter Sharleen Spiteri and Johhny McElhone, co-founder of Texas, have always been about striving for a great mix of pop, rock and soul styles - with the blues, and hip-hop, and country, and moody filmscore music, all stirred into the mix. Their song writing flair has earned them three Ivor Novellos, including one for 'Best Body of Work'. The new album, Red Book, was realeased in 2005.
