Hoboken's front man, Scott Twynholm - former member of the much acclaimed band Looper - heard Paul's arrangements on Isobel Campbell's then unreleased album, Time is Just the Same. Hoboken approached Paul to remix their first single Hotel Lisboa. The sound brings together an old rat pack style with darker electronic beats and lo-fi strings. Paul went on to collaborate on their next album, Crazy Glue, adding string arrangements to Hoboken's electro-noir sound, which drew them comparisons to Goldfrapp in the music press.
